Doe Mountain Recreation Activities

Adventure Trails

We have 8,600 acres of protected mountain terrain that is ideal for all types of Adventure Trails, including motorized Trails and non-motorized Trails.  All of our Trails are Multiuse unless otherwise marked. There are designated ATV Trails with all difficulty ratings. Horseback Riding is permitted on all Multiuse Trails. Our two Main Attractions are the Kettlefoot Fire Tower that stands atop Doe Mountain at 3,889’ elevation and Chimney Rock Overlook, which has a short, uphill intermediate- level walk, to see breathtaking views. We have long term plans to open up our backcountry area for those seeking a more extreme Adventure Experience.

During the season, we offer OHV Safety Programs, Interpretive Nature Based Programs and Outdoor Adventure Expositions. We also have musical events and small outdoor events and festivals. We will be continually expanding our Family Program Offerings, so keep checking our Event Calendar for any new additions.

Doe Mountain Recreation Authority does not rent OHVs and does not endorse or have affiliations with any particular OHV/ATV outfitter. There are outfitters operating on the mountain that offer guided ATV Tours and guided horse riding. We can offer contact information upon request.
